Greater Philadelphia Family Law Attorney
Finding Alternatives to the Traditional Divorce Process
When your marriage comes to an end, you want an experienced lawyer to help you understand your options, so that you are able to make informed decisions. Because divorce brings out powerful emotions, it can be easy to get caught up on trying to "win" on issues such as child custody, visitation, and child support. You need an attorney who will be help you work collaboratively with the other side while making certain that your interests are protected.
I work with men and women throughout the greater Philadelphia region from my law office of Catherine Cardozo LLC, in Plymouth Meeting. I recommend a collaborative approach to divorce and family law matters, whenever possible. Reaching a fair agreement that responds to each party's concerns can be advantageous to all those affected. I will help you assess whether mediation is the best route for you. For a confidential consultation to discuss your needs, contact my office.
Divorce and Family Law Matters
I represent clients in all stages of a divorce, from the initial filing and temporary determinations of custody, visitation and support, through negotiations, mediation and post-judgment requests for modification of court orders. I handle all types of divorce and family law disputes, including child custody and visitation, child support and the distribution of marital assets, from simple property distributions to the allocation of complex estates.
I work hard to help clients find alternatives to the traditional divorce process. I am a Montgomery County Certified Mediator with specialized training in divorce and family law mediation, and am a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators. I understand that, when marriages end, families must still be in regular contact. When differences are resolved through cooperation and agreement, rather than protracted litigation, everyone can benefit.
Prenuptial Agreements
I also work with individuals and couples who want to implement a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement. A prenuptial agreement can protect the assets that you bring into a marriage and ensure that children from a first marriage share in your estate. Whether you have a sizable estate or simply want peace of mind, I can help you prepare a prenuptial agreement that meets your objectives.
If you are involved in a family law dispute and would like to try to resolve your differences cooperatively, contact the law office of Catherine Cardozo LLC. My office hours are 10 am to 5 pm, but I offer flexible hours by appointment. I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
